Suffer on Centennial : May 23, 2026
Suffer on Centennial is a trail running event held in Whiteshell Provincial Park, with the finish at Falcon Trails Parking Lot. The event offers multiple distances:
- 100 km (point-to-point)
- 100 km relay (team up to 6 runners)
- 50 km (point-to-point)
- 25 km (two-lap course)
- 8 km (one loop)
The courses follow the Centennial Trail and other local trails near West Hawk Lake and Falcon Lake. Routes use mainly single-track and Trans Canada Trail sections, with less than 1 km of road on some courses. Terrain descriptions note technical rock and root sections, exposed granite ridgelines, wet boreal forest, short climbs and some scramble sections. The 100 km route is point-to-point from Alfred Hole parking lot to Falcon Trails and includes the iconic red bridge at Hansons Creek only on the 100 km option.
Aid stations are stocked with drinks, gels and solid food; the McGillivray Falls aid station offers more substantial hot options for 100 km runners. The race enforces cutoffs: a total cutoff of 18 hours for the 100 km and 16 hours for the 50 km. Mandatory gear rules include carrying at least 1.5 liters of fluid for 50 km and 100 km runners and a cellphone with data for 100 km solo entrants. Pacers are allowed for the 100 km from the halfway aid station. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
