Frost Town Trail Festival
Frost Town Trail Festival is a trail running event hosted at the RMSC Cumming Nature Center near Naples, NY. Routes explore the Bristol Hills and neighboring DEC landscapes and include options on maintained and more rugged trail systems. The event supports environmental education programming at the RMSC Cumming Nature Center.
The longer course is listed as 25K and is described as approximately 23K in distance. It is a single loop that circumnavigates the Cumming Nature Center and the Honeoye Inlet Wildlife Management Area. The route begins with a steep, winding ascent and descent on historic logging roads, continues across the Cumming Nature Center trail system, and follows the Rattlesnake Hill ridgeline east of Lake Honeoye. Well placed aid stations are available at roughly four mile intervals, for a total of three on-course support stations.
The shorter option is a 10K that uses the 10K-capable sections of the Cumming Nature Center trail system. It features less elevation gain and a more runnable course, and can serve as an introductory 10K trail run or a faster loop for more experienced trail runners.
