Frost Fixed-Time Footrace

The event on 17 Oct 2026 is a pair of trail footraces held at Caribou Bog Outdoor Center in Orono, Maine. Marsh Island Trail Runners offers two options: a short loop labeled as a 5ish K and a timed endurance event that runs for six hours. Red and blue loop choices are available and are provided as Strava routes and GPX files.

Racing follows a points system for laps. Each lap on the available routes earns a set number of points; the two shown values are 0.75 points and 1.0 point per lap. In the 5ish K the fastest completion is recognized for both the blue and the red loops. For the six hour event, runners repeat laps to accumulate points until the time expires.

Both individuals and teams may enter. Team entries consist of two to four runners. Teams choose which teammate runs each lap and which route they take; each completed lap earns its points for the runner or team. The runner and the team with the most points after six hours are declared winners. In the case of a tie, the fastest lap completion time is used to break the tie.

Online registration details include a deadline to order a T-shirt if registered before Sep. 1 and an online registration close date of Sep. 30. Race day registration is also available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
