Fountainhead Half Marathon and 10K Trail Run
The Fountainhead event on Sunday May 3, 2026, takes place at Fountainhead Regional Park in Fairfax Station, VA. The park is described as having a remote feel despite its proximity to Washington, DC. Courses include long sections of the Bull-Run Occoquan Trail and several lesser used side trails.
The routes run over natural trail surfaces with rocks and roots, multiple stream crossings, and significant hills. The half marathon route includes about a 6 mile stretch of the Bull-Run Occoquan Trail and three seldom used side trails. The shorter course uses a portion of the Bull-Run Occoquan Trail and one side trail that contains a steep climb.

All aid stations offer water and Gatorade; the aid station near mile 7 on the half marathon also provides snacks and a portable toilet.
