The Founders Half Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, December 14, 2025, in Potomac, MD (ZIP 20854). The event is a half marathon of 13.1 miles and is listed as race #2 of the DCRR Snowball Series. Course and support
The course is an out-and-back route along the C&O Canal Towpath and is USATF certified; the certificate will be re-certified before race day. There are two water stops at Lock 10 and Lock 6, which correspond to approximately miles 3, 5, 8, and 10; runners pass each stop twice. Timing and results will be compiled in real time and live tracking links will be provided to runners; friends and family may follow runners via social media. Post-race food and beverages include bagels, spreads, hot chocolate, coffee, tea, Gatorade, and bananas. The event does not provide t-shirts or medals.
