The Forth Mountain Wexford race is part of the IMRA Southeast League. It takes place in County Wexford.

Course Details

The event offers two distances:

  • A senior race of 14.5 km.
  • A junior race of approximately 5 km.

The senior course involves 400 m of ascent. The route is described as fully marked and features a mixed surface including fire track, forest track, single-track, mud, puddles, riverbed, rocks, and roots. It is noted as technical in places with few long drags and can be very wet and muddy.

The junior course consists of two loops on gravel paths around Carrigfoyle Lake.

Mandatory Kit

Runners must bring specific items, with the final decision on what must be carried during the race made on event day based on conditions. The required Level B standard kit includes:

  • Waterproof jacket
  • Hat or buff
  • Gloves
  • Whistle
  • Charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored
  • Foil blanket, bivvy bag, or equivalent

Failure to present the required items may result in denial of entry or disqualification, with random checks possible.

Venue and Facilities

The event starts and finishes at the Carrigfoyle Lake Car Park. Carpooling is recommended. Three single-occupancy public toilets are located 500 m from the car park. Some refreshments will be available after the race in the car park.

The route uses public paths and includes a section along a public road, where runners must use the footpath. There are two marshalled road crossings.

Registration
