Forest of Dean Spring Trails Half Marathon

The Forest of Dean Spring Trails Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 22 March 2026 in the Forest of Dean. The event is organised by The Rotary Club of the Royal Forest of Dean with support from the Forestry Commission, and proceeds are donated to charities.

The officially measured half marathon (13 miles 192.5 yards) starts and finishes at Speech House and follows a clockwise loop of well maintained forest trails. The multi terrain route is way marked, marked on the ground with yellow paint and mile markers, and generally uses tracks with gentle inclines and short road sections.

The route will be fully marshalled and led by lead cyclists. Roads will be closed where required to allow runners to cross, and radio communications link organisers and emergency crews. There are three water stations at approximately 5 km intervals and drinks will be available at the finish. Medical cover will be provided by GDR Solutions Ltd and Grafton Medical Services Ltd with mobile units and repatriation vehicles available.

Under UKA rules results are determined by gun timing and individual performances are confirmed by chip timing. Race bibs with integrated timing chips are issued on the day and may be retained after the race. The event also serves as the Trail Running Association Short Distance championship and as an England Athletics Age Group Masters qualifier. Age group and team trophies are awarded across a range of veteran categories up to 80 plus, and Top 50 athlete t shirts are given to the first 50 male and first 50 female finishers.
