Forde Abbey 10k and free Junior 1500m

The event takes place on the Forde Abbey Estate in the heart of West Dorset and moves through woodlands, meadows and rivers. The course offers extensive rural scenery across estate land.

The 10 km route is entirely off-road on technical terrain. It includes mud, rocky tracks, repeated hills, wide views and two river crossings near the end. The course is described as rugged and requires careful footing.

Distances:

  • 10 km (advanced online entry only; age 15+)
  • Free Junior 1500 m (primary age children; parents may accompany)

Entry rules differ by race. The 10 km accepts online entries only and race numbers are collected from HQ on the day. Entries for the 10 km are non-refundable but may be transferred to a new runner through the Race Nation website. The free junior race accepts online and on-the-day entries; pre-entry reduces on-the-day registration time and there is no minimum age restriction.

Medals are provided to all participants. Prizes are awarded to male and female race winners and to category winners.

Because the route is technical and off-road, dogs, buggies and audio equipment are not permitted. The race is not suitable for visually impaired runners. Post race catering is available and there are races aimed at families. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
