Fight for Families 5k

Fostering the Family hosts the seventh annual Fight for Families 5k Trail Run/Walk on November 7, 2026 at Westminster Park, 4000 India Hook Rd, Rock Hill, South Carolina. The event uses a trail route and is presented in a new location at the park.

The event aims to bring awareness to the local foster and adoption crisis. The course is a true 5k (3.1 miles) and includes interactive stations that provide insight into the experiences of children moving through the child welfare system. There are two water stations located along the route, and the activity is open to all ages.

Results are recorded by age and by male and female divisions, and participants receive their finish time via text from Queen City Timing. An awards ceremony follows the race, with prizes for winners in each age category.

Registration opens January 1, 2026 and closes June 11, 2026. The registration fee is $25. Sponsorship opportunities and vendor tables are available for businesses, churches, and nonprofits that wish to participate in the community-focused event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
