Festive Friston Forest Night Trail Run
Litlington, United Kingdom • 14 Dec 2026
The Festive Friston Forest 5 mile night trail run
The event is a self-navigated night trail of approximately 5 mile through countryside, including forest and downlands, using a Strava GPX route on a phone or watch. A written narrative is provided to assist with downloading the GPX, and a tail runner will sweep the course. TRA Permit 7842 is noted as TBC.
Participants receive a race number and a festive finisher's medal. When a race number is handed in behind the bar at the start/finish venue, a pint, a glass of wine, a hot drink or a soft drink is offered in return. If food is required, orders can be placed before the run with an estimated return time so the kitchen can prepare it.
The route is described as predominately anti-clockwise and is the reverse of the Plough & Harroween 5. The terrain includes many hills; warm layers and personal provisions are recommended because the event is self-sufficient. Required items listed are a head torch, a mobile phone with ICE details, and ideally trail running shoes.
This is a festive fun run with a fancy dress element; a best Christmas themed outfit wins a dessert, and time penalties apply for not wearing festive dress up to a stated maximum. The event is timed but is presented as an adventure in the dark rather than a formal competition.
The event is for those aged 18 and older because the start and finish use a licensed premises. Parking is limited so car sharing is suggested. In the event of snow or ice preventing access, the event will be postponed to a nearby date. Total places are 39. Prices vary by booking date.
