Festive Friston Forest Night Trail Run

Litlington, United Kingdom • 22 Dec 2025

Event overview

The Festive Friston Forest 5 mile night trail run takes place on 22 December 2025, starting and finishing at The Plough & Harrow in Litlington, East Sussex. The event is described as a festive, timed night run with a focus on a social, adventurous experience rather than competition. A TRA permit application is in progress.

Route and navigation

The route is predominately in the countryside, including forest and downland, and is mainly run anti-clockwise. The event is self-navigated using a Strava GPX file that participants follow on a phone or watch; a written narrative is available to assist with downloading. A tail runner will sweep the course.

Logistics and what is provided

Race numbers are collected inside The Plough & Harrow before the start. Entry includes a race number and a festive finisher's medal. Participants who return their race number behind the bar receive a drink (beer, wine, hot drink, or soft drink). Organiser notes advise carrying a head torch, a mobile phone with an emergency contact, and preferably trail running shoes. Runners should be self-sufficient with extra clothing and provisions, as conditions can vary and there are many hills. Parking is limited.

Entry and restrictions

Total places are 40. Prices range from £15 to £17 depending on booking date. The event is for adults only (18 years and older). Time penalties of up to five minutes may be applied for not wearing festive fancy dress; a prize is planned for the best Christmas-themed outfit.
