Event overview

FEAR Trail Fest is a trail race held in Lewis Morris Park in Morristown, New Jersey. The main distance is 5 mile, run as a lollipop loop mostly on the Yellow Trail. The course includes rocks, roots and several climbs, with about 600 feet of elevation gain. The route uses a wide section of the Patriots Path before moving onto single track for the full Yellow Trail loop, then returns via a short Patriots Path section.

Logistics

The event is limited to 120 runners and welcomes hikers. There is a generous 2:30 hour time limit for completing the course. Course previews are free and are scheduled for October 12, October 26, and November 16; participants meet at the picnic shelter shown on the event map. Entry price is listed at $50 and registration opens May 31, 2026.

Sustainability and extras

The event is cupless; Hydrapak will provide reusable cups for runners. Race bibs will be made from hemp instead of traditional PVC materials. Prize packages are provided for first and second place male and female finishers.
