The FEAR Trail Fest is a 5-mile trail race on a lollipop-loop course within Lewis Morris Park in Morristown, New Jersey.

Course Description

The route primarily follows the park's Yellow Trail. The terrain includes a mix of rocks, roots, and climbs, with a total elevation gain of approximately 600 feet. The race begins on a wide section of the Patriots Path, transitions to single-track trail for the main loop, and returns via the Patriots Path to the finish.

The event organizers state the course is designed to be suitable for first-time trail racers as well as more experienced runners. Hikers are also welcome, with a time limit of 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Additional Information

Organizers offer free, guided course preview runs on specific dates prior to the race. These are intended to be educational for newcomers to trail running or the park.

The event incorporates several sustainability initiatives. It is a cupless race, with reusable cups provided for hydration. Race bibs are made from hemp instead of traditional PVC materials.
