Nuclear Fallout
Nuclear Fallout is an obstacle race held at the Nuclear Races site in Brentwood, Essex. The course runs across farmland and woodland with rivers, lakes, bogs and muddy terrain on a permanent obstacle site. The route mixes natural and man-made obstacles, including large signature features such as the Deathslide, a travelator and a multi‑lane zip wire into water.
Distances offered:
- 6 km, lapped course, 40+ obstacles, age 14+
- 12 km, longer course, 70+ obstacles, age 16+
- 24 km+, three laps, 200+ obstacles, age 17+
Races are chip-timed. The 6 km event allows participants to walk, crawl or run at their own pace. The 12 km and 24 km+ formats are described as chip-timed with no penalties for skipping obstacles. The 24 km+ option is run as multiple laps of the shorter circuit.
Event facilities listed by the organiser include hot washdowns, changing facilities, buoyancy aids for water obstacles, free car parking, free bag drop, finishers medals and free finisher photos. Spectators are permitted and there is an event village with music, food, drinks and merchandise near the racing area. The venue is located in Brentwood and is about 15 minutes from the A12, M25 and M11, and roughly 15 minutes by taxi from Brentwood or Epping stations.
