The Falling Leaves 8 Miler and 5K is a trail running event held on Sunday, October 25, 2026. It takes place at Secor Metropark in Berkey, Ohio.

Race Distances

The event offers two trail race distances:

  • 5K (approximately 3.3 miles)

Course Details

Both races start on the all-purpose trail at Secor Metropark. The 8 Miler begins near the Secor Room. Runners follow the all-purpose trail counter-clockwise, connect to the Moseley Trail leading to Wiregrass Lake, loop around the lake, and return via the same trails to finish back at the Secor Room. The 5K involves one loop of the "long version" of Secor park's all-purpose trail. Both courses are described as flat and non-technical. Walkers are welcome in the 5K.

Event Information

Participation is capped at 250 total participants. All finishers receive a medal. Awards are given to the top male and female overall, masters, and grand masters in each distance. In 2025, the event was named a top fall trail race by Outside Magazine. It is part of the four-race Toledo Roadrunners Club Trail Series presented with Metroparks Toledo.

Runners receive a Hydrapak reusable cup at packet pickup to help reduce disposable cup waste at aid stations. Packet pickup is available on a Thursday evening at Second Sole and on race day at the Secor Center. A t-shirt is guaranteed for registrations received by October 12, 2026. A fun, donut-themed race day at Toledo's Glass City Metropark. Choose from a Half-Marathon, 10K, 5K, or a family-friendly 1 Mile and Kid's Dash. All finishers get a shirt, medal, and a donut at the finish line.
