Fall Running Series Overview
The Fall Running Series is a multi-week trail event held in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The series consists of five separate trail races scheduled on Tuesday evenings from late September through October. Each race takes place at a different trail location within the park boundaries in Peninsula, Ohio.
The distances for the events in this series include:
- 4 Miles (first four events)
- 3 Miles (final event)
Each race features a specific fun theme and a unique twist that remains unannounced until shortly before the race begins. Participants encounter different terrain and settings each week, with event locations moving between Pine Hollow, Howe Meadow, Kendall Lake, Oak Hill, and Camp Butler.
The event remains open to both runners and walkers. Participants who expect to finish after dusk are encouraged to bring a flashlight or a headlamp for safety. While the races follow a competitive format, the series emphasizes community interaction on the trails. The fifth and final event at Camp Butler provides special permission for participants to run or hike with their dogs. All races are held regardless of weather conditions during the fall season.
