Fall Fling 400 : YMCA Camp Sloper, Southington CT

The CT Trailmixers organize the annual Fall Fling, offering two trail race options at YMCA Camp Sloper in Southington, Connecticut. The main course is a roughly two-mile loop run mostly on single-track wooded trails with some dirt and gravel road sections, moderately rolling hills, and areas with rocks and roots. The course will be marked with flags.

Distances

  • Fall Fling 400: complete as many roughly two-mile loops within 400 minutes
  • Fall Fling 4 Miler: two laps of the roughly two-mile loop

There is one aid station at the main pavilion start and finish area supplying typical trail ultra foods, water, and electrolyte drink; the event emphasizes baked items. Participants may set up a personal area and drop bag at the main pavilion. The event is cupless, so participants should bring their own cup or mug. Portalets are located near the start and real bathrooms are a few hundred feet from the aid station.

Registrations must be made online; race day registration is allowed only if openings remain. Participant limits are set at 150 for the Fling 400 and 50 for the 4 Miler. Chip timing will count laps and a monitor at the start/finish will display lap counts. Awards include a CT Trailmixers gift and finisher medal, plus top male, female, and non-binary recognitions.
