Fall Fling 400

The Fall Fling 400 is a trail running event at YMCA Camp Sloper in Southington, CT on November 21, 2026. It offers multi-loop timed running on a roughly two-mile loop and a separate four mile option on the same course.

Distances

  • Fall Fling 400: complete as many roughly two-mile loops as desired within 400 minutes.
  • Fall Fling 4 Miler: complete two laps of the roughly two-mile loop.

The loop is mostly single-track wooded trail with some dirt and gravel road sections, moderately rolling hills, and sections with rocks and roots as well as smoother stretches. The course will be marked with flags. Timing is by chip and laps are counted at the start and finish pavilion; only laps completed within the 400 minute limit count.

Support is centered at the main pavilion aid station. The aid station offers typical trail ultra food including baked goods, fruit, chips, candies, water, and electrolyte drink. Participants may set up a drop bag at the start area. The event is cupless so participants should bring their own cup. Portalets are provided near the start and additional bathrooms are a few hundred feet from the aid station.

Race entries are online only and field sizes are capped. Race proceeds benefit local organizations including the Southington YMCA, the Connecticut Forest and Parks Association, and a shoe scholarship program for local youth. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
