Fall Fling
Southington, United States • 22 Nov 2025
Event overview
The Fall Fling 400 is the ninth annual trail event organized by the CT Trailmixers at YMCA Camp Sloper in Southington, Connecticut on November 22, 2025. The event offers two race options: a loop-based 400-minute event and a 4-mile race that uses the same roughly two-mile loop.
- ~2-mile loop
- 4 miles (2 laps)
- 400-minute event (many runners reach at least 28 miles / 14 laps)
Race format and registration
In the 400-minute event, participants complete as many loops of the roughly two-mile course as they can within the 400-minute time limit. Laps are tracked with chip timing and only laps finished within the time limit count. The 4-miler is two laps of the same course. Only registered participants may be on course; pacers are not allowed. Registrations must be made online and entries are capped at 150 for the Fling 400 and 50 for the 4-miler. Race-day registration is allowed only if openings remain.
Course and support
The course is a roughly two-mile loop with moderately rolling hills, mostly single-track wooded trails and some dirt/gravel road sections; parts include rocks and roots. The loop will be marked with flags. One aid station is located at the main pavilion start/finish area and provides typical trail ultra food, water, and electrolyte drink. The event is cupless, so participants should bring their own cup. Portalets are available near the start and permanent restrooms are a few hundred feet from the aid station. All finishers receive a CT Trailmixers gift and a finisher’s medal; top male, female, and non-binary competitors are recognized. Proceeds support local organizations and a shoe scholarship program.
