Euchre Bar Massacre is an ultramarathon near Foresthill, California, offering 25- and 50-mile fatass-style routes along the North Fork of the American River. The rugged course ladders about 10,000 feet of climbing for the 25-mile option and roughly 20,000 feet for the 50-mile, with substantial bushwhacking and route finding. It threads between landmarks such as Euchre Bar, Pioneer Mine, Ebeneezer’s Highway, Green Valley, Mumford Bar, and Italian Bar, starting and finishing at Shirttail Creek Campground. Participation is limited to 50 runners and entry is free, but finishers must wait for another competitor. A single drop-bag/crew meet point and largely off-trail sections add to the challenge.
