EpicTrails - Guided Run

Mugdock, United Kingdom • 25 Sep 2025

Event overview

EpicTrails - Balloch and Whinney Hill takes place on 25 September 2025 in Balloch, starting and finishing at Balloch train station. The event is organised by EpicTrails, has a total of 14 places, and an entry price of £3. The event is run on a not-for-profit basis: funds first cover costs and any remainder is donated to a local charity periodically. Refunds are given only if requested; no refunds are available with less than 24 hours notice.

Route and rules

The route covers about 10 km of local trails through Balloch Castle Country Park and up Whinney Hill, including a mixture of road, trail, woods and mud, narrow paths at Fairy Glen, a quiet road crossing, and a loop with panoramic views of Loch Lomond before returning to the loch and the station. This is a night run and a head torch is mandatory; no torch means no run. A qualified guide who is insured and first aid trained will lead the run. The event is social rather than a race: pace will vary, the group will regroup at points, and no one will be left behind. The run is aimed at participants who can run a road 10 km in under 65 minutes. Dogs and under 18s are not permitted due to insurance.
