Epic Endurance Jurassic Coast Challenge

Isle of Portland, United Kingdom • 26-28 Mar 2027

Jurassic Coast Challenge : Epic Endurance Events

The event runs over three consecutive long distance days along the Jurassic Coast, starting just outside Charmouth and finishing on Day 3 at the National Trust Shell Bay Car Park, Studland. The route runs west to east and includes the full circumnavigation of Portland. Daily routes follow the coastal footpath and a mix of beaches and tracks; the organiser describes the format as a marathon a day.

Event headquarters are at Portland Masonic Hall, 1 Victoria Square, Portland, Dorset. The HQ acts as meeting point, catering area, reception, massage and first aid point, and the finish of Day 1. Transport is provided each day from the HQ to the start and back; free parking is available at the HQ.

Checkpoints are sited at roughly 10 km intervals. Each checkpoint stocks energy bars, jelly babies, salty snacks, filled rolls, water, squash, coke and hot drinks at selected CPs. Finishes each day include hot homemade soup and a bread roll. Medical cover and on-course support are available, with a mini bus pick up for retired participants.

Start groups are split for Day 1: Group 1 for walkers and joggers only, Group 2 for runners only. Start group allocations are published in the participant information pack.

The entry fee includes a GPS tracker supplied by Geo Tracks, an event t-shirt, food and drink on course, transport, a bespoke finisher medal, medical cover and the event information pack. The organiser enforces a mandatory kit policy: participants must carry navigation, waterproofs, warm layers sealed in waterproof bags, hat and gloves, emergency food, torch and spare batteries, at least 400 ml water, a high visibility item and a folding cup. No exceptions to the kit requirement are permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
