Enchanted Forest Trail Races take place in Red River, New Mexico on July 25, 2026. The event centers on Brandenburg Park (100 E Main St) for start and finish areas and includes a race weekend with kids' races, live music, local food, and craft microbrews in town. Entry fees include place-winner awards, race mementos (shirts, apparel, etc.), aid station items, a finisher’s memento, and post-race refreshments. The entry fee is non-refundable and nontransferable.

Courses and services

  • Trail Marathon - just over 26 miles; almost 5,000 ft of climbing.
  • Heavy Half Marathon - 14.7 miles; more than 2,400 ft of climbing.
  • The Face Challenge - approximately 7 miles; about 2,400 ft of elevation gain.

Courses run through Carson National Forest and the Enchanted Forest cross-country ski area. Surfaces include pavement in town, dirt Old Pass Road, double track and jeep roads, singletrack river trail, and sections with little or no trail marked by tree markings. Marathoners and Face Challenge runners ascend a steep ski slope called The Face with a steep off-trail section to the top of the Platinum lift.

Aid stations provide ice water, sports gels, potato chips, Skittle, and a Precision electrolyte drink; cups are not provided. Aid stations have radio contact and basic medical supplies. Dogs on leashes are allowed at the Start/Finish and aid stations but are not allowed on course. Awards include customized finisher’s awards at the finish and top-three male and female awards by age group; winners receive complimentary entries for the following year.
