Enchanted Forest Trail Races : Red River, New Mexico (July 25, 2026)
The event offers three trail distances in and around Red River, NM, with start/finish in downtown Red River at Brandenburg Park (100 E Main St). Courses run through Carson National Forest and the Enchanted Forest cross-country ski area and include dense forest, singletrack river trail, double-track and jeep roads, and sections that may be off-trail with tree markings. Aid stations are provided and stocked with ice water, sports gels, potato chips, Skittle, and a Precision electrolyte drink; cups are not provided. Radio contact and basic medical materials will be available at aid stations. Dogs on leashes are allowed at the start/finish and aid stations but are not allowed on course.
Distances, elevation and race policies
- 26.5 miles : Trail Marathon; about 4000' climbing; low 8670', high 10,480'.
- 14.7 miles : Heavy Half Marathon; about 1600' climbing; low 8670', high 10,200'.
- 7.6 miles : The Face Challenge; about 1400' climbing; low 8670', high 10,480'.
Awards include customized finisher mementos at the finish and placer awards for top three men and women in age groups (Under 20; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60+). Winners receive comp entries to next year. Awards and mementos will not be mailed. Entry fees cover awards, shirts or race mementos, aid station supplies, a finisher memento, and post-race refreshments. Entry is nontransferable; credits are available per the posted refund policy (85% credit 30+ days prior; no credit less than 30 days). Registration opens November 5, 2025.
