The Bull of the Woods Trail Races take place on Saturday, September 5, 2026, in Taos Ski Valley, New Mexico (116 Sutton Place). The event offers multiple distances:

The full marathon combines the TSV Half Marathon and the Northside Half Marathon for a total of about 26 miles. The 10K is new for 2026 and begins with roughly 1.2 km on mountain roads before moving onto singletrack, with close to 2,000 feet of elevation gain.

Course details and terrain

Courses start at about 10,000 feet and include high-alpine sections and single-track trails through forests, meadows, and overlooks. The TSV Half Marathon and the marathon route ascend to Kachina Peak (12,481 ft). The Northside Half Marathon and the marathon route ascend Fraser Peak (12,163 ft). The Kachina Peak course section includes more than 7,000 feet of climbing on the marathon/half combined route and features technical, rocky climbs and ridge descents. Course segments include steep climbs, flowy singletrack, two-track roads, and sustained descents. Aid stations are placed at several points on course. Event volunteer coordination is handled by the Enchanted Circle Trails Association, and a portion of event proceeds supports regional trail development and maintenance.
