The Edale Skyline Trail Weekend is a trail running event in the Peak District. The weekend is based at the Nab View Bunkhouse at Ollerbrook Farm, just outside Edale. The accommodation is within walking distance of Edale train station.

Running Activities

The main run takes place on Saturday, covering the Edale Skyline route. It is a 23 mile (37km) round trip with 1288m (4226ft) of total ascent. The route passes peaks such as Win Hill, Lose Hill, and Mam Tor, and includes the Great Ridge. The group will maintain a steady pace, hiking the ascents and running the flats and descents.

On Sunday, an optional 10km run is available, with 330m (1083ft) of elevation, on trails around Whitemore Clough. Throughout the weekend, the event host provides guidance on trail running technique, fuelling, and pacing.

Participant Requirements

The event involves rugged terrain and significant elevation in an unforgiving environment. Participants are required to have a good level of fitness and be able to run for prolonged periods at a pace of 10 min/mile (6:15 min/km) on flat and downhill sections.
