Eastern States: Blackout - Night-run camp
Eastern States: BLACKOUT is a three-night camp based in Lock Haven, PA that focuses on night running on sections of the Eastern States 100 course. Participants stay at the Ponderosa Lodge in single-person beds. Registration includes three nights lodging, transportation to and from each run segment, pre-run light meals, breakfasts, and access to optional daytime activities and informal clinics.
Each night features a different point-to-point section of the actual ES100 course on rugged trails and in darkness. Runs cover long stretches with minimal on-course support to mirror race-night conditions. Terrain includes steep climbs, rocky singletrack, dense forest, creek crossings, and long technical descents. Participants are expected to carry fluids, nutrition, lights, and weather-appropriate layers between trailheads.
Support and logistics are limited. Each night includes one staffed aid station: Dry Run on Night 1 and Cedar Run on Night 2. There is no aid on Night 3. Transportation is provided to and from run segments, and meals are provided at basecamp to assist recovery between outings.
