Faylor Lake Loop

The Snyder County Conservation District hosts the seventh annual trail run at Faylor Lake in Beaver Springs, Pennsylvania. The race uses a new start at the pavilion and the course direction is reversed this year. The route crosses the breast of the dam, runs into a mature timber stand, passes through a fallow farm field, climbs the steepest trail elevation, and crosses shallow lake water of less than 6 inches before reaching the finish.

Two distances are offered:

  • 3.75 miles trail run / walk
  • 7.5 miles trail run

Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in each distance. All participants receive a finisher prize. Proceeds benefit the conservation district’s youth environmental outreach programs, including Kids Enviro Camp, Snyder County Trout in the Classroom, 2nd grade ecology days, and Midd West Outdoor Ed.

Postrace provisions include complimentary food and opportunities for fishing, kayaking, and disc golf. The event location is listed as 750 Mattern Road, Beaver Springs, PA 17812; organizers note the event is not at Shale Pit Road. Participants who register by June 28 receive a Faylor Lake Loop shirt. The registration fee for each listed distance is thirty dollars. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
