Event

The East Hanningfield Trail Marathon is a narrative trail race held on 04 January 2026. The route follows a circular course around the village of Danbury and is 95% off road on a wide variety of terrain. The race starts and finishes at The East Hanningfield Village Hall. There are 3 well stocked checkpoints, placed at approximately every 6.5 miles. A GPX file of the route is available for download.

Logistics and rules

Participants are expected to carry a mobile phone of the same number left at registration for safety. Bags can be left in the village hall, with someone present at all times. Timing is from the gun and race numbers must be clearly visible on the front; runners may be asked to state their number at the finish. Results are intended to be posted on the web later the same day.

Race rules include not passing race numbers to others and reporting to the organiser if abandoning the race. Use of personal stereos is discouraged so runners remain aware of their surroundings.

Entry details: total places 150. Entry fees listed until 01 Jan 2026 23:59 are discounted £29.00 and standard £31.00; discounted rates apply to members of clubs affiliated to any of EA WA SA. Refunds: 50% refund available until 5 Oct 2025; no refunds after that date. Places can be transferred until 25 Dec 2025.
