Dude Peak Derby : June 20, 2026
Dude Peak Derby is a trail race held in the Salt Lake City foothills. The event covers 16 miles with nearly 4,000 feet of elevation gain and starts and finishes at Memory Grove Park. The route travels up into City Creek Canyon and uses the Bonneville Shoreline Trail (BST) for portions of the course.
Runners follow a sequence of road, singletrack, and ridgeline trails. After climbing out of Memory Grove Park and entering City Creek Canyon, the course stays on the BST toward Ensign Peak, detours to tag Ensign Peak, then descends to a tower road and climbs toward radio towers. Runners then follow a ridgeline toward Dude Peak for about four miles before turning around prior to the National Forest Service boundary to remain within permitted land. The return includes a steep descent into City Creek and a final section on the City Creek trail back to Memory Grove Park.
Aid is available with water and running calories on the tower road near miles 6 and 9. Entry fees vary by date with tiered pricing between January and the race date. Prize purses are listed for the top three women and top three men. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
