Course, logistics and services

The 50K course reports 5,100 feet of gain and loss; the Half Marathon reports 1,250 feet of gain and loss. Cutoff times are 9.5 hours for the 50K and 5 hours for the Half Marathon. Hikers are permitted on course and trekking poles are allowed. Aid stations on the 50K are at miles 8.88 (Knickerbocker Terror), 13.9, 20.9, 23.1, and 27.9; the Half Marathon has one aid station at mile 8.88.

Packet pick-up is available Friday, December 12, 3:00–7:00 PM at Auburn CrossFit (858 High Street, Auburn, CA) and on race morning at the Race Start. Parking fees are not included in registration; participants must display a Golden Poppy Pass or purchase a day use pass ($10 exact cash). Live tracking and real-time results are provided by UltraLive.net. There is a driving alert: HWY 49 is closed from Auburn to the Confluence Dec 1–22; the detour is Foresthill Rd to Old Foresthill Rd to the Confluence, then HWY 49 to Cool. Experience an iconic trail run through the rolling hills and creek crossings of Northern California. Participants can choose between a classic 50 km ultramarathon or a 10 mile trail race ending with signature post race treats.
