Event Overview

The Trail Running Events at Dominion Energy Riverrock is a series of trail races taking place over three days in May. All events start and finish at the Belle Isle Parking Lot in Richmond, Virginia.

The Races

Three separate trail runs are offered:

  • Belle Isle Blitz: A chip-timed trail run of approximately 5 km. The course winds around Belle Isle and features climbs and downhills.
  • James River Scramble: A trail run of approximately 10 km. The route includes sections of the Canal Walk, the James River Park System, Belle Isle, and the Floodwall.
  • Bust the Banks Half: A half marathon trail run on Richmond's urban single track system along the banks of the James River.

Participation Options

Participants can register for individual races. A "Trail Takedown" challenge is also available, where participants complete any two of the three races over the weekend. A specific "Dog Wave" is offered for participants who want to run with a leashed dog.
