Dirty Secret Trail Run

Dirty Secret Trail Run takes place in Cool, California on May 9, 2026. Both race courses start and finish at Northside Elementary School. The event is limited to 600 participants and offers on-course amenities and race swag including a tech shirt, a custom finisher medal for 2026, and a post‑race strawberry pancake breakfast.

The course follows single‑track trails through green meadows and rolling hills and includes stream crossings and foot bridges. Notable features on course include Baby Head Alley, a rock‑lined section named for its distinctive stones, and the Knickerbocker Creek crossing located shortly after three miles on both courses. Runners should expect varied terrain with rocks, roots, some low tree branches, and a demanding climb out of Knickerbocker Creek.

Two distance options are available:

  • 10.3 miles Long Course
  • 5.8 miles Short Course

The race is presented as the opening event of a three‑race Trail Challenge series managed by the same organizing group. Course information notes single‑track sections rather than separate jogging lanes and advises runners to seed themselves according to ability for wave starts. Entry policies state that fees are nonrefundable and entries are nontransferable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
