Folsom Lake Trail Run
The event is a trail running series held at Browns Ravine Marina in Folsom, California, using out-and-back routes along the south-eastern shoreline of Folsom Lake. The course follows well-preserved dirt trails that pass Falcon Crest and turn around at Sweetwater Trailhead. The terrain is mostly moderately technical dirt with gently rolling hills and a mix of single- and double-track; hiking poles are permitted.
Distances offered:
- 10K (6.3 miles, 450' elevation gain)
- Half Marathon (14.0 miles, 900' elevation gain)
- 35K (22.3 miles, 1,500' elevation gain)
- 50K (30.3 miles, 2,200' elevation gain)
Races are chip timed using MyLaps and Race Director; disposable chips are attached to the back of each bib. The 35K and 50K have an eight hour time limit with course cutoffs. Aid stations provide a range of energy and electrolyte products such as gels, stroop waffles, trail mix, sandwiches, boiled potatoes with salt, soda, water, Skratch Hydration, and seasonal fruit; basic first aid is available. Runners are encouraged to carry at least one 20 oz bottle. This is a cupless event; runners must bring their own water bottle or reusable cup. Parking within Folsom Lake is available for a fee and California State Park Poppy Passes are accepted. The event capacity is 500 entrants.
Awards include overall trophies by gun time and age-group medals by chip time; all finishers receive a custom medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
