Event Overview

The Folsom Lake Trail Run is a trail running event with four race distances. It is planned for Saturday, May 2, 2026. The start and finish are tentatively set at Browns Ravine Marina in El Dorado Hills, California.

Distances and Schedule

The event features the following race distances:

  • Half Marathon (1/2 Marathon)
  • 10K

The event has a capacity of 500 runners across all distances. There is an 8-hour time limit for the 50K and 35K races.

Course and Location

The course is an out-and-back route on the lakeside trails along the southern side of Folsom Lake. It begins at Browns Ravine Marina and goes east toward the Sweetwater Trail Head before returning. The trails meander along the lake shore.

Amenities and Logistics

Participants can pick up race bibs early on the Friday before the event at a specified location in Folsom, or on race morning. Parking at Browns Ravine Marina costs $12, with California State Park Poppy Passes accepted. Carpooling is encouraged.

Aid stations are located approximately every 4-6 miles and are stocked with various foods, drinks, and first aid supplies. Runners are encouraged to carry at least one 20-ounce bottle. After the race, there is food available for participants.

Awards and Recognition

All finishers receive a custom medal. Top overall male and female winners for each distance receive a custom trophy. The top male and female finisher in each distance also gets a special sponsor item. 50K finishers receive a pint glass. Age-group medals are awarded three deep in several categories. A custom award is given to the Dead Last Finisher (DLF) in each event.

Registration Details

Registration closes on Friday, May 1, 2026. Entry fees are non-refundable. A 50% credit toward a future event may be issued if cancellation is received at least three weeks prior to the race.
