Doomsday is an in-person trail running event held in Cool, California, with two distance options and a total field limit of 200 runners. Both distances begin together at the Cool Staging Area, 7200 Saint Florian Court.
Distances
- 50K: 5,100 feet gain/loss; 9.5-hour cutoff; multiple aid stations.
- Half Marathon: 1,250 feet gain/loss; 5-hour cutoff; one aid station.
The 50K includes aid stations at Miles 8.88, 13.9, 21.2, 23.1, and 27.8; the Half Marathon has an aid station at Mile 8.88. There is a mandatory intermediate cutoff at the Robie Point aid station on the 50K course. Trekking poles are allowed and courses are described as hiker and back-of-the-pack friendly.
Packet pick-up is available Friday, December 11, 3:00–7:00 PM at Auburn CrossFit, 858 High Street, Auburn, CA, and on race morning at the Cool Staging Area. Parking fees are not included; participants should display a Golden Poppy Pass or purchase a day use pass for $10 cash. Volunteers will direct parking to the Day Use Lot or overflow parking on Haul Road.
The event provides GPX files and detailed maps via a sponsor, real-time tracking and results through UltraLive, race shirts for participants, weighted finisher medallions, and custom trophies for the top three men and women in each distance.
