Auburn Resolution Run
The Auburn Resolution Run is a trail running event held on January 1st at Overlook Park in Auburn, California. This event serves as a way to begin the year with outdoor physical activity on local trails. Participants can choose between several trail distances based on their preference and fitness level.
The event offers three main course distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- 10 Miles
The run is conducted as a cupless event, meaning participants are responsible for carrying their own reusable water bottles or hydration systems to reduce waste on the trails. Aid stations are positioned along the course to provide support, staffed by volunteers who assist with refills. These stations offer various supplies such as water, electrolyte drinks, soda, salt tablets, gels, and snacks including boiled potatoes and candy.
Participants receive several items as part of their registration, including custom race bibs and finisher medals. The medals are part of a multi-year collectible series designed to highlight the history and landmarks of Auburn. Cotton t-shirts are provided, with an option to upgrade to a moisture-wicking tech shirt. A post-race gathering with food is also provided for finishers.
In addition to the in-person event, a virtual participation option is available. Virtual runners complete their chosen distance independently and submit their results electronically to receive the event medal. For those who have participated in previous years, there is an option during registration to acquire medals from past events to complete their collections.
