Course and facilities

The race starts just inside the park gatehouse. The 15K route begins southward and the 5K begins northward. The 15K course uses the southern section three times and the northern section two times; runners pass the lap/finish split twice before finishing on the third southern loop. Aid stations are placed at approximately every two miles. The course rating is given as Hills 3 and Surface 2 on a 1 to 5 scale. The park offers views of the White River and the ceremonial mounds.

Registration, fees and rules

Online registration closes the Wednesday before the event at midnight; in-person registration is available on race day. Entry fees listed are 5K $30 and 15K $35; day-of entry is an additional $10 or more. The kids race is free. Madison County residents receive 50% off with ID; season pass options are available for multiple events. No refunds. Transfers and participant changes are subject to time cutoffs and a $20 service fee for transfers to another participant. Race rules require a visible race number, following marked trails, and no headphones or dogs.
