Peace Officer Memorial Endurance Ruck
The Peace Officer Memorial Endurance Ruck is an annual rucking event held at Harbour Shores Church in Cicero, Indiana. The event consists of a closed course designed for participants to carry weighted rucksacks over a specific period or distance. The course is a 1-mile loop that is mostly unpaved, allowing participants to pass through the start and finish area repeatedly.
Participants can choose between two primary event options:
- 4 Hour Ruck: An endurance challenge where participants cover as much distance as possible within a four-hour time limit.
- 5k Trail Ruck: A distance-based event requiring three laps of the 1-mile loop, totaling just under 5 km.
Participants in both the endurance and trail events are expected to provide their own rucksack or backpack. The equipment should be loaded with a weight equivalent to 10% of the individual's body weight for the duration of the activity.
The event structure supports various age groups and fitness levels. Each registrant is provided with a designated space to set up a canopy or chairs, creating a support area for coolers and other necessary items. This setup allows participants to rest and recharge as needed throughout the endurance event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
