Dimple Dell Blitz Backyard

This event uses a 4.167 mile loop inside Dimple Dell Regional Park that is composed mostly of woodchipped trails. The loop is designed to remain runnable in snow or rain. The course is marked with pink flags, cones, and signs and offers views of the Wasatch Mountains. The start and finish are at the Wrangler Trailhead.

Participants choose between timed, loop-based options:

  • 4 hour Blitz Backyard
  • 8 hour Blitz Backyard
  • 12 hour Blitz Backyard

Runners complete the loop once each hour and must start the next loop on the hour to continue. Placement is determined first by distance completed and then by cumulative time across all completed laps; every lap is timed with live results and individual lap times displayed. Fields for each option are capped at 60 runners to limit trail congestion.

All runners who complete at least one loop receive a finisher medal. Runners who complete 12 loops receive a custom leather patch beanie reflecting a 50 mile total. The event provides a well marked course, locally made finisher medals, a running shirt, onsite snacks and electrolyte drink, and food at the conclusion of specified options. Free photos are taken on course and at the finish line and will be made available without a watermark. Ample free parking is available with paved stalls reserved across the street from the trailhead.
