Die to Run - The 5k
The event is a 5k held at Hangar 3 inside the Hatbox Sports Complex in Muskogee, Oklahoma. It takes place on May 16, 2026, at the Hatbox Sports Complex location on 640 S 40th St.
The course follows a loop of the Hatbox Sports Complex trail. The start and finish are notable for passing through the open doors of Airport Hangar 3, so runners enter and exit the hangar at the beginning and end of the loop. A course map is listed as coming soon.
The 5k begins two hours into the Die to Run Ultra endurance event. Ultra runners start a new loop at the top of every hour, so the 5k coincides with a major launch of ultra participants and is scheduled alongside that event activity.
All 5k finishers receive wooden Die to Run finishers medals. The top male and top female 5k finishers receive a solid cedar 3.5" x 3.5" wooden die, laser engraved on site with the runner's name and the 5k time. T shirts are guaranteed for runners who register by May 1; there may be some extra shirts for later registrants but availability is not guaranteed.
Registration opens on December 17, 2025. The registration fee is $30 until the week of the event and $35 the week of the event and on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
