Die to Run - Last Person Standing

Die to Run is a last-person-standing endurance event held at Hatbox Sports Complex in Muskogee, Oklahoma on May 15, 2027. The event uses a repeating one-hour loop format: runners must complete the loop and return to the start area within 60 minutes to remain in the race.

Each hour begins with a live die roll that decides the turnaround point on the paved out-and-back route. The route is flat and marked; aid is available at the start/finish area and at the turnaround spots. Bathroom facilities with running water are available in the race area. Runner camp is inside an airport hangar where each runner may claim a 10 foot by 10 foot spot on a first-come, first-served basis; water and electric are available in the hangar and runners are advised to bring an extension cord for their setup.

The event applies escalating distance rules as the day progresses. The race continues until only one eligible runner completes the final loop. Every runner receives a solid cedar 3.5 inch by 3.5 inch wooden die, laser-engraved on-site with their name and exact mileage before they leave.

Suggested personal items include a chair and shade, reliable shoes, hydration, extra socks, nutrition for long hours, warm layers, and lighting and battery power for late-hour running. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
