Desert Runner Trail Series

The Desert Runner Trail Series is a sequence of trail running events organized by Aravaipa Running in cooperation with Maricopa County Regional Parks. The series runs across the Valley of the Sun from October 2025 through March 2026 and includes both a Fall Series and a Spring Series.

Races take place at Maricopa County regional parks and nearby trail systems. Event locations listed for the 2025-2026 cycle include San Tan Mountain Regional Park, Estrella Mountain Regional Park, Cave Creek Regional Park, White Tank Mountain Regional Park, Usery Mountain Regional Park, and McDowell Mountain Regional Park.

Each race offers multiple distance options. Distances available across the series range from short trail runs to ultra distances, with up to six options per race. Distances shown in the series schedule include:

  • 5 kilometers
  • 10 kilometers
  • Half-marathon
  • 50 kilometers
  • 50 miles
  • 100 miles

The series is offered as separate Fall and Spring segments. Participants may register for individual races or register for the entire Fall or Spring series in a single transaction; the Fall Series includes a 20% discount off individual race entries for full-series registrants.
