Event Overview

The Desert Peak Ultra takes place in Oracle, Arizona. The event offers three distances: 100K, 50K, and a 100K + 50K Double (Summit Challenge). The 100K race is scheduled for April 11, 2026, and the 50K for April 12, 2026.

Course Description

The route starts at 36019 S Mt Lemmon Rd and ascends Mount Lemmon in the Santa Catalina Range, passing through the town of Summerhaven. The course features a mix of desert and alpine terrain, including smooth singletrack, steep climbs, and descents. Runners can expect traditional Sonoran Desert landscapes at lower elevations and pine forests near the summit. The final course layout is pending permit approval.

Distances and Elevation

  • 100K: Approximately 12,000 feet of climbing with a 24-hour cutoff time.
  • 50K: Approximately 8,000 feet of climbing with a 12-hour cutoff time.
  • Summit Challenge: Combines the 100K on day one with the 50K on day two.

Aid Stations

Aid stations will provide various items including gels, drink mix, electrolytes, hot and cold food, snacks, candy, chips, and water. HYPERLYTE products will be available for free.
