Défi Gendarme de fer is a sporting and charity event presented in collaboration with the Gendarmerie royale du Canada. The format combines trail running and obstacles based on police training and raises funds for pediatric research. The 2025 edition raised nearly $230,000 for pediatric research.
The 2026 editions take place in Québec and Montréal: Québec - 26 September 2026, Montréal - 17 October 2026. The event is open to participants of different ages, including adults, teenagers and children, and offers multiple race levels.

Timing is provided via a personal chip for accurate results. Races are offered in solo and team formats. Teams consist of 2 to 10 members; the team result is the average time of its members. The elite wave features an isolated start for uninterrupted competition, a professional race photo for each elite runner, and a presentation of elite competitors before the event. Corporate participation is available with team entries providing visibility and team building opportunities.
