Deer Dash Trail Races - Hawarden, IA
The Deer Dash Trail Races are held at Oak Grove Park in Hawarden, Iowa, on trails that run along the Big Sioux River. The event offers multiple trail distances and uses predominately single-track mountain bike and hiking trails that wind through wooded hills and prairie and include numerous twists, turns and elevation changes.
The race is named for a local one-eared deer that was often seen in the park. Oak Grove Park is a 433 acre county park with free entrance and parking, overnight camping, cabins, and modern restroom facilities with showers. Courses begin near Oak Grove Lodge and finish back at the Lodge where post race refreshments are available.

Course routes and distances are subject to change based on trail conditions and river levels. Chip timing is provided for the trail series. Pets are not allowed in the Trail Race Series. The event is part of a points series with age divisions including 29 and under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 plus; points are awarded to top finishers in each division.
