Event Format

Death by 5k Memphis is a 24-hour challenge where participants run ten 5k races. These races start every 2.5 hours. Participants must be present for the start of each 5k and must finish it before the next one begins.

Course and Location

The event starts and finishes at the Tour de Wolf Pavilion at Shelby Farms. The course is run almost entirely on the Tour de Wolf trail. It is mostly a loop, with a small stretch that may be an out-and-back section depending on trail conditions.

Logistics and Amenities

Between each 5k, participants can rest. Sleeping in vehicles in the parking area or setting up tents in the adjacent grass area is allowed. Five meals with hot food are provided at specific times. Snack food and drinks are available throughout. Headlamps or other illumination are required for running in the dark.

Registration and Details

Registration is initially limited to 200 participants, with a waitlist available after that. Participants receive an event shirt and other items. Finishers receive a special award. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
