The Deadwater Trail Run takes place on 27 December 2025 in Kielder Forest. It is a night trail run and the first race in the Shadowlands Race Series. The route uses forest tracks and mountain bike trails, centres on the Deadwater mountain bike trail and reaches the highest point of Deadwater Fell before returning downhill. Distance: 15 km. Elevation gain: 603 m. The event is held under TRA/UKA rules.

There are prizes awarded on the night. Results from the race can count towards the series overall presentation, which is scheduled for 21 February 2026 at Pedalling Squares cafe.

Entry and practical details

Entries open 26 October 2025 and close 22 December 2025. Minimum age to enter is 18 or older. Entry fees are listed as £28 for UKA members and £30 for non-members, plus a booking fee.
