Event

The Deadwater Trail Run takes place in Kielder Forest on Saturday 27 December 2025. It is Race 1 of the Shadowlands Race Series and is organised by Cold Brew Events Ltd. The minimum age to enter is 18 or older. Entry fees shown are UKA Member £28 and Non Member £30, plus a booking fee; the entry fee includes a £4 Forestry England charge. A £2 fee applies to participants who are not UKA members. Registration opens and closes on the dates listed by the organiser.

Course and competition

The event is a night trail run of 15 km with 603 m of elevation. The route uses forest tracks and mountain bike trails, centres around the Deadwater mountain bike trail, and summits the highest point of Deadwater Fell before descending back to the finish. Prizes are available on the night and competitors can earn points toward the series overall presentation, scheduled for 21 February 2026 at Pedalling Squares cafe.
