Dash Point Trail Run

Dash Point Trail Run takes place on March 21, 2026 at Dash Point State Park in Federal Way, Washington. The park is a 398 acre camping area with about 3,300 feet of saltwater shoreline on Puget Sound and a long stretch of sandy beach near the start and finish area.

Distances offered

  • 10K: one loop, approximately 700 ft elevation gain.
  • Half marathon (13.1 miles): two loops with a short extra lollipop section, approximately 1,500 ft elevation gain.

The course runs from the beach into lush forest with thick ferns and moss covered trees. Trails are described as non technical, cushy singletrack with a short section of stairs near the start of the loop and several small bridges. Trails remain open to other users during the event, including equestrians, pedestrians, and cyclists. Aid stations are placed along the course; locations include 2.2 miles for the 10K and 2.2, 6.5, and 8.5 miles for the half marathon.

Parking at the state park is limited and requires a Discover Pass. All 10K runners park at Lakota Middle School and are shuttled to the start area. The event operates a cupless policy so participants must carry a refillable container. A free kids race of about 0.9 miles and roughly 275 feet of elevation gain is also offered.
