Dash Point : March 21, 2026, Federal Way, WA

Dash Point Trail Run takes place at Dash Point State Park, a 398-acre park on Puget Sound with about 3,300 feet of saltwater shoreline. The event offers two distances:

  • 10K
  • Half marathon (13.1 mi)

The course is a single loop of roughly 10 km; half-marathon runners complete two loops with a short extra lollipop section on each lap to reach the total distance. The route starts near the beach and climbs away from the water to a high point near the Nightcrawler aid station, then returns with mostly rolling downhill sections. Trails are described as non-technical, cushy singletrack through lush forest with ferns and moss-covered trees. There is a short stair section near the loop start and several bridges.

Elevation gain and aid stations:

  • Half marathon elevation gain: about 1,600 ft; aid stations at approximately 2.3, 6.8, and 9.1 miles.
  • 10K elevation gain: about 800 ft; aid station at approximately 1.75 miles.

Logistics and additional notes

The start/finish area is adjacent to a long sandy beach and picnic/BBQ stations. Trails remain open to other users, including equestrians, pedestrians, and cyclists. All events are cupless; runners must carry a refillable container. A Discover Pass is required to park in the state park. All 10K runners will park at Lakota Middle School and be shuttled to the start/finish. A free Woodland Speeders kids race is offered; that course is about 0.9 miles with nearly 275 ft of elevation gain. Every finisher receives a handmade finisher item produced using solar power.
