The Dartmoor Volcano Race is scheduled for Saturday 12th September 2026. The event is a 10.5-mile, 100% trail race on southern Dartmoor with over 550 metres of ascent. The course starts and finishes in the village of Scoriton (TQ11 0JB) on the edge of Dartmoor. Entry is limited to 250 competitors and the minimum age on race day is 17 years. The race is run under UKA rules, licensed by the Trail Running Association and held with permission of Dartmoor National Park Authority and the land owners.
Course and logistics
The marked and marshaled route visits Pupers Hill, Snowdon and Ryder's Hill and includes the Red Lake Volcano. Course features listed by the organiser include:

- 1 volcano ascent
- a long uphill start and a long downhill finish
There is an aid station about 6.3 miles into the course supplying drinks and a small selection of snacks. Qualified paramedics from Peninsula Medical will attend. A mandatory kit list is enforced and includes trail running shoes, a backpack or waistpack, whistle, foil survival blanket, waterproof jacket, headcover, a mobile phone with an emergency number stored and capacity to carry at least 250 ml of liquid. Marshals and sweepers will monitor runners and withdrawn competitors must report to a marshal. Finishers receive bespoke medals and trophies are awarded to the first three male and female finishers.
