Darter Dash - Turkey Creek Nature Preserve, Pinson AL

Darter Dash is a trail event organized by the Birmingham Ultra Trail Society (BUTS) at Turkey Creek Nature Preserve in Pinson, AL, held on September 26, 2026. The event offers two distances and is limited to a total field of 125 participants across both races. Proceeds support educational programs at Turkey Creek Nature Preserve.

The course runs on preserved trails with some moderate elevation changes and includes stretches that follow Turkey Creek. A short portion of both races runs on pavement. An optional Splash Challenge allows participants to finish by tubing down the waterfall at the finish area.

Race-day arrangements include morning packet pickup for bibs and race swag and water and typical aid station items available at the finish area. Post-race provisions include a pancake breakfast with mimosas. Awards will recognize top male, female, master, grand master, and youth finishers, and all entrants are eligible for sponsor giveaways. There is no race-day registration for this edition.
