Darter Dash : Turkey Creek Nature Preserve
Darter Dash is a trail running event held at Turkey Creek Nature Preserve in Pinson, AL, at 3906 Turkey Creek Rd. The event offers two race distances and is organized by the Birmingham Ultra Trail Society and Turkey Creek Nature Preserve. The field is limited to a total of 125 participants across both distances.
The course runs on preserved natural trails with some moderate elevation and includes stretches alongside Turkey Creek. A short portion of each race is on pavement. Aid and water will be available at the finish area. Packet pickup is available on the morning of the event and there is no race day registration.
Post-race offerings include a pancake breakfast served with mimosas and an optional Splash Challenge that involves tubing down the waterfall at the finish. The event concludes with a brief award ceremony recognizing top male, female, master, grand master, and youth finishers. All participants are entered into sponsor giveaways.
Proceeds from the event support educational programs at Turkey Creek Nature Preserve.
