Course and logistics

The course is built from a 13.5-mile loop that includes around 1500 feet of elevation; the 27-mile distance consists of two loops. Trails on the course include old rail beds, root-filled single-track, and sections identified as Ike and BMRR trails. Notable features along the route include Grace's Gap Overlook, old mine shafts, and several chairs and swings. The organizer states the course includes stocked aid stations and that a course map is available on Strava.

The park closes at 5:00 PM in winter. The event lists time cutoffs of 7.5 hours for the 13.5-mile distance and 8.5 hours for the 27-mile distance; the organizer also mentions an early-start option may be arranged for some 27-mile entrants. Run the Half Marathon, 10K, or 5K on April 11, 2026 at Black Creek Park in Fultondale. The course follows the historic Five Mile Creek Greenway, a scenic Rails to Trails route with shaded paths. Registration is open for all three distances.
