The Dart Challenge is a new six hour trail event on 21 November 2025 at Green Table Cafe, Dartington Hall, Totnes (TQ9 6EL). Participants may run, hike or walk as many 5 km laps as they can within the six hour limit. Entry allows one lap with a finisher medal or multiple laps to cover longer distances; a marathon is described as eight laps plus a short out-and-back. A canicross option (run with a dog) is available. Minimum age is 17 on the day. The event supports fundraising for a new playground at Dartington Hall.

  • 5K to 50K+ possible distance

Course and facilities

The 5 km lap uses mixed terrain: gravel, grass, some tarmac and occasionally mud. The route is described as reasonably flat with one notable hill per lap. Trail shoes are strongly recommended.

Event facilities include professional RFID chip timing, fully marked and marshalled routes, water and feed stations, toilets, free event photos, custom race numbers and trained first aid cover. The Green Table Cafe will host registration and provide a covered area and indoor space with a wood burning stove. Parking is available on site but is paid and monitored by cameras.
