Dark Orchan is a night-time AS category fell race held on 18 November 2025. The event is licenced and supported by the Fell Runners Association. Course and safety requirements

The course covers 5.4 km with 280 m of ascent. A printable race map is provided by the organiser. Registration and prizegiving take place at the Staff of Life Inn. The event notes it is a night-time fell race and warns participants to be prepared for cold conditions including snow and ice.

Full FRA mandatory minimum kit is required. Required items include a map, a navigation-capable compass, a whistle, waterproof top with integral hood and taped seams, waterproof bottoms with taped seams, emergency food, gloves, hat, a headtorch and a spare headtorch, and a mobile phone with the race organiser’s number stored.
