Dark Horse 24 and 48 Hour Endurance Run

Dark Horse is a timed endurance event held at Stable View Equestrian Facility in Aiken, South Carolina. The event takes place on a 4 mile loop and offers both 24 hour and 48 hour formats. Competitors may run solo or join a team relay.

Event options include:

• 24 hour solo
• 48 hour solo
• 48 hour team relay, 2 to 4 runners, only one team member on course at a time

The loop format keeps support and crew access close. Participants may use 10 by 10 personal canopies and have access to vehicles. On site lodging options include cottages and hunt boxes on the property and there are RV sites and covered sites. Covered sites cost $50 for the weekend. An on site bistro and pub provide meals and cold drinks during the event.

Event dates for 2026:

• 48 hour solo and team relay: February 27 to March 1, 2026
• 24 hour solo: February 28 to March 1, 2026

Entry fees are listed as $200 for the 24 hour solo, $350 for the 48 hour solo, and $150 per runner for the 48 hour team relay. Finisher buckles are awarded at 100 miles and 150 miles; other finished distances receive custom medals. Top teams receive special recognition.
