Dark Horse 24 and 48 Hour Ultra Run

The Dark Horse event is a timed ultra held at Stable View Equestrian Facility in Aiken, South Carolina. The meeting spans race dates in late February and early March 2026 with separate 48-hour and 24-hour options: the 48-hour event runs February 27 to March 1, 2026, and the 24-hour event runs February 28 to March 1, 2026.

Runners complete a maintained 4-mile loop that keeps support and crew access nearby. The 48-hour format includes a team relay option for teams of 2 to 4 runners; only one runner per team may be on the course at a time. Chip timing is provided by Zen Arcade Timing with real-time tracking, live lap counting, and split displays.

Entry fees published for this edition include a 24-Hour Solo fee of $200, a 48-Hour Solo fee of $350, and a 48-Hour Team Relay fee of $150 per runner. Finisher buckles are awarded at 100 miles and 150 miles; custom medals are given for other finishing distances. Top-performing teams receive special recognition and awards.

On-site lodging options include cottages and hunt boxes on the Stable View property plus RV sites with hookups and covered sites available for a weekend fee.
