Dark Dorset 10

The Dark Dorset 10 is a twilight off road 10k run organised by Tri-Counties Trail Running around Eastbury Park in Tarrant Gunville, Blandford, Dorset. The start and finish are located in the park in front of Eastbury House and the route is entirely off road, including wooded sections and parkland.

Runners follow a loop that goes into the park at Chettle, then returns toward Eastbury House through Bloody Shard Gate, a location linked to a past skirmish in which a sergeant reportedly lost a hand that was buried in a nearby churchyard and is said to become restless. The course also passes the Chettle Long Barrow before re-entering Eastbury Park, where local stories reference a headless horseman on the drive at midnight. The event provides medals, trophies and refreshments. Canicross is not permitted. Entries are limited to 200 and the published entry fee is £27.50. The event takes place at Eastbury Park, Tarrant Gunville, Blandford, Dorset, DT11 8JQ. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
