Dark Dorset 10

The Dark Dorset 10 is an evening trail run held in the Cranborne Chase area of Dorset. The event takes place on a Saturday in November, with the course specifically designed as a twilight 10 km route.

The start and finish lines are located in the park area directly in front of Eastbury House. The course is entirely off-road, leading participants through local woodlands and into the park at Chettle. The terrain consists of natural trails and rural paths typical of the Dorset countryside.

The route passes several historical landmarks associated with local folklore. Participants run through Bloody Shard Gate, the site of a historical skirmish between soldiers and chase keepers. The path also leads past the Chettle Long Barrow before returning toward Eastbury Park.

Because the event takes place during twilight hours, the environment changes from dusk to darkness as the run progresses. The course utilizes the drive at Eastbury Park for the final segment of the route before reaching the finish line. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
